End of Semester Party

which is a new way to communicate with light and sound

Despite spending several years at university and taking the same courses, we often remain unfamiliar with our fellow students. Recognizing the need for better communication among ourselves, we organized an ‘End of the Semester Party’ and invited students to explore new ways of interacting with each other.

We gathered the invited students in a circle and encouraged them to share their thoughts and emotions about the ending of the semester. To facilitate a new form of expression, each participant was provided with a button connected to an Arduino Touch Board. We prepared questions based on our shared experiences in class and let the students answer them by pressing the buttons.

Instead of using words, participants expressed their thoughts and feelings through the media of light and sound, utilizing the buttons connected to the Arduino Touch Board. As participants pressed their buttons, the assigned colors and sounds harmonized in a way that dynamically responded to each individual’s answer, creating a one-of-a-kind experience.
